OSCAR Downstream launches the first mobile payment application in the B2B fuel distribution market in Romania
OSCAR Downstream, the largest Romanian independent fuel distribution company, launches for the first time for B2B customers in Romania the payment facility via mobile phone, in a partnership with Eurowag, provider of integrated mobility and payment services for transport companies.
The mobile phone payment option (pay at the pump) can be used by drivers in the OSCAR Drive network, dedicated to the fleets of B2B customers, with 30 units strategically located on the main commercial routes in the country.
"OSCAR Downstream has a business model based on agility and innovation," says Nicolae Bănică, CEO of OSCAR Downstream. "Our history and our brand are associated with concepts and services that we introduced to the Romanian market for the first time, such as the DIESELpoint in-house stations, launched in 2004, the OSCAR Drive transit stations or the OSCAR fleet cards, developed with a unique contactless technology for the profile market. We are pleased to expand our service offering to our more than 5,000 B2B customers by partnering with Eurowag, which has an impressive portfolio of integrated and secure smart solutions for commercial road transport in Europe. We continue to invest in cutting-edge technology solutions that deliver value and efficiency to our customers.Plata la pompă este o facilitate din ce în ce mai populară, la nivel global. Conform Eurowag, peste 10.000 de stații de alimentare din Europa furnizează acest serviciu în prezent.
Lucian Haranguș, Sales & Retail Director OSCAR DOWNSTREAM, adds: "The mobile phone payment option improves the consumer experience at the pump, creating more fluidity and security when completing transactions. It is also a step forward in our sustainability efforts, helping us to reduce our environmental impact and carbon footprint. Receipts are generated digitally, payments do not require additional resources and infrastructure such as plastic cards or ATMs and POS, and the process is much more energy efficient".
Eurowag's mobile payment application is available in Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Once downloaded to a smartphone, the user registers and enters the necessary details, including payment information. When the user arrives at one of the OSCAR Drive stations, he selects the station and pump through the application and can turn the pump on.
When the maximum allowed level of fuel is reached, the pump stops automatically and the driver can continue his journey.
Payments made by each driver are centralised in real time in the customer account on the digital platform available to companies that purchase fuel from OSCAR Downstream.
"The technical solution for this project was provided by Petrosol, the main software provider for the oil and gas industry in Romania. The expertise of the Petrosol team ensured a flawless integration between Eurowag's mobile payment system and OSCAR Downstream's retail tax system" - Cristian Bălulescu, General Manager of Petrosol.
