For the second year in a row, Alfa Foundation supports the future of medicine with IMSCB 2024

The Alfa Foundation for Health and Education continues to support excellence in the training of future medical professionals by being the main sponsor of the 8th edition of the International Medical Students' Congress of Bucharest (IMSCB). The event, which will take place from 4-8 December 2024, will bring together students, young doctors and internationally renowned specialists, creating a unique space for learning, exchanging ideas and professional development.

Over the years, the International Medical Students' Congress of Bucharest (IMSCB) has consolidated its status as a training platform for future generations of medical professionals. The Alfa Foundation is a major supporter of the project and joins in the mission to guide the improvement of today's students and shape tomorrow's medical professionals.

The congress will take place from 4-8 December 2024 at the Sheraton Hotel and the Faculty of Medicine Palace in Bucharest.

With a significant expansion both nationally and in Eastern Europe, the event enjoys the participation of over 750 students and young doctors from different corners of the world, as well as renowned specialists. This year, IMSCB has the honor to introduce you to Prof. Dr. Lisa Sanders, a personality with a resounding success in the field and director of Yale’s Multidisciplinary Long Covid Center, Prof. Dr. Richard G. Fessler, renowned professor of neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center, Prof. Dr. Guillaume Canaud, director of the Targeted Therapy and Translational Medicine Section at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital, and, last but not least, the distinguished Dr. Elena Martin, a plastic surgeon with a wide experience in her field.

IMSCB is one of the most important projects of the Bucharest Medical Students' Society (SSMB), under the auspices of the prestigious "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

The Alfa Foundation for Health and Education is actively involved in the sustainable development of the medical and educational systems and was established with the aim of making a significant contribution to the improvement of infrastructure and services. The organisation focuses on sustainable development and works with committed partners to ensure positive, long-term change.

"We are proud to support the International Congress of Medical Students of Bucharest for the second year in a row. We believe that the future of medicine depends on solid training and collaboration between generations of professionals. Through our involvement, we want to contribute to the development of well-trained medical professionals who can make a difference in their communities. It is an honour to be part of this extraordinary project dedicated to excellence and innovation in healthcare," said Mihai Măcelaru, President of the Alfa Foundation.

Together with the belief in the effectiveness of the individual contribution to the improvement of the community and the achievement of high standards, the Alfa Foundation's activity is based on solid values such as integrity, honesty, transparency and responsibility towards the community and partners."As we have already told you, every year we dedicate ourselves to preserving the traditions that have established us and that are the basis of the IMSCB project, but we also look to the future and to innovation with hope and enthusiasm. In this sense, we are constantly striving to optimise the experience of our participants by broadening and adapting the topics covered, ensuring a broad transfer of knowledge from different areas of the medical universe, useful both in academic development and in professional careers", emphasises Mihai-Octavian Dan, President of the IMSCB Congress.
